Costa Brava is famous for its wonderful landscapes and its beaches, but submarine views can be fairly breathtaking too. Shipwrecks, caves, wildlife, there are so many reasons which make scuba diving in Costa Brava fascinating. Shipwrecks

Shipwrecks are delightedly mysterious, when exploring one, you feel like a hero from an adventure movie looking for memories from the past. But they are also great artificial reefs. Indeed, very often, wild animals and plants appropriates shipwrecks and make them their new home.

At a depth of 30 meters, you can explore the Reggio Messina, which is the largest shipwreck in the Costa Brava.

The Avenire, also called Marmoler, sank in 1971, you can admire it at a depth of 42 meters. It is almost intact, and the wildlife is very rich.

The Llanishen was a British merchant ship which was torpedoed by a German ship during the First World War. It is at a depth of 10 meters, and again, the aquatic life took possession of it.

There are many other shipwrecks, as well as coves, tunnels and caves in the area of the Costa Brava, it’s up to you to explore them!

Wildlife

You may think that the Mediterranean waters are not diverse enough regarding the wildlife to be worthy of interest, but actually, more than 15 different species can be observed in the area of the Costa Brava, which is only a small part of the Mediterranean Sea.
